Dear Writer,

Please see below a very brief list of Do Not Wants along with some things I like which may inspire you! Feel free to mix up prompts, switch them around for different characters, ignore them or only loosely be inspired. I’m dreaminghour on tumblr and AO3 (filtered to just be the Gen fic) if you want to see what I’m up to as another source of inspiration. Please note: I am a big shipper so there is plenty of that content on my pages, but it is all tagged appropriately.

I’m not very picky about background ships or side-characters, though I have to warn you that I’m most familiar with the movies. Despite that, I’m a huge Ahsoka fan.

Request 1 Prompts

I like the idea of Obi-Wan being Reva's master a lot. Either Kenobi show compliant or set in an alternate timeline where Anakin didn't fall so the disaster lineage (Obi-Wan, Anakin, Ahsoka, now Reva) just gets bigger. Mild chaos as they go on missions together, or domesticity as they regroup in their little family. I realize this is veering into Request 2 a bit. Co-mentoring Ahsoka, Anakin being a role-model for Reva.

I'm so bad at mission prompts, ha. I usually write the aftermath for a reason! But Obi-Wan being able to use his negotiation skills would be great. There's so much he can teach Anakin, Ahsoka, Luke, Leia and Reva. Or if you prefer, Qui-Gon teaching Obi-Wan something, as a child or as a man on Tatooine. Like, I always envision Obi-Wan as a bit of a punk who only 'grew up' when he had a padawan of his own.

If Obi-Wan and Anakin are the same age, for example, with Qui-Gon as Obi-Wan's master and maybe Mace as Anakin's, it would be great to see them come together as friends on a different foundation. Obi-Wan has this punk attitude maybe and Anakin is trying to prove himself, feeling the weight of what Qui-Gon put on his shoulders. This is veering into Request 2 again, sorry! Just, padawan learners. Yeah. That's the good stuff.

Likewise, Obi-Wan teaching Luke more, and spending actual time with Leia would be fantastic. Even as a force ghost! Like, I have big feelings about Leia and wouldn't mind a fic focused on her with Obi-Wan. Maybe he comes to Alderaan to train her, maybe she runs away to learn from Obi-Wan as a teen. Especially post Kenobi show? Or as much as I like Obi-Wan's death on the Death Star, I like the idea of him living long enough to teach both twins. But again, offering them both help as ghost would be lovely as well.

I don't know Legends/EU/Canon supplemental materials at all, so don't feel like you need to use anything from it or treat TCW as canon! I will say that you don't need to recap all that happens if you do reference TCW because I'm vaguely familiar with most arcs and have done alright reading fic without watching thus far.

This might be too big an ask, but I have an original Twi'lek character in a short fic, her name is Eya'fiwu and she's a friend of Qui-Gon's who has given Obi-Wan some good advice at times. You could have her mentoring/teaching Obi-Wan as well. She's not a solid character, so feel free to interpret her as you like! See a picture of her as an older adult here.
